Zone Conference x's 3!

Hey guys! This week was a super solid one. We had 3 Zone Conferences and I learned a ton.

We talked about progress. About how to know if our investigators are actually progressing and how to help them actually progress. President Bretón also shared a super powerful testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The atonement has the power to heal ALL things if we will let it. Getting to know Jesus Christ on my mission has been something I will never forget and always be grateful for.

When it's Zone Conference week we get about 0 time to study or to go out in our area, shout out office, but we did get to have a super good lesson with the parents of our recent converts Smeily and Albeiro. Their names are Beatriz and Alberto. They are super cool and I hope they will accept the gospel because I know it would change their lives so much.

Smeily is 13 years old and loves going to church. We baptized her during my first transfer in the office. We received a social media reference and then 3 weeks later she decided to be baptized! Then after 5 months we taught her 9 year old brother Albeiro and baptized him last Saturday. Now we just need to baptize the parents!

Beatriz is interested in knowing why there are so many churches. Alberto is just interested in joking with us and making us food. Honestly super chill cause we love us some Dominican food. We had a powerful lesson with them about Jesus Christ and the peace he can bring into our lives. We hope they will act with faith and come to church tomorrow!

I am still yet to find out when I will officially leave the office to a normal area. I am beyond excited for that day though let me tell ya;) Being in Zone Conference and hearing all this great council is awesome until we get home and realize we have like 0 time to put them into practice.

Anyways. Love you all! I hope you are all studying the Book of Mormon. Hope you are praying and serving others. Send a text to someone in need today. Make it focused on Christ. That's your invitation for this week:) love ya’ll!

El día de amor

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Hope ya’ll ate some good chocolates and had a fun day. Our Valentines day was spent with a 2 hour drive to Cotuí and then to San Francisco and then back to Santiago! Got home at 11:00:) the office is a party lol

This week has been so much fun. I have spent a lot of time with my replacement Elder Wight and we are pretty similar people. He loves golf and played at Fox Hollow a ton! He also is friends with some of the kids that worked there that I also knew. Not gonna lie made me mad trunky this week talking about golfing at Fox Hollow, but don't worry we are back on the grind;)

As far as the work goes we are teaching about 9 people seriously rn. Given the fact we are in the office we are pretty happy about it. One of them is Albeiro and he is scheduled to be baptized tonight! We are super excited and hope that everything goes smoothly. He is 9 years old and the little brother to our recent convert Smeily. He is a good little dude. I am so proud of him and his decision to follow Jesus Christ.

I have been studying a lot in Preach my Gospel this week and I have enjoyed so much. I hope all of you can also study it. PMG isn't only for missionaries;) so I hope you can all open it up and study. I recommend that you all study chapter 6. It talks about Christ-like attributes and is a wonderful chapter to help us get to know Jesus Christ better, and to become more like Him.

The mission is truly a wonderful experience. I love getting the chance to speak about Jesus Christ all day everyday and really help others get to know Him.

Love you all! Hope ya’ll are doing great! Have a good week:)

"Life is crazy. One day you're in Bonao and the next you're in the Office"

Whats good everyone?!? This email is short, but this week has been one for the books!

The week of transfers in the office is truly an amazing and crazy experience. We have been doing so much work moving people and getting areas ready for missionaries.

Like I mentioned, it was transfers and after about 6 months in the office I have received my replacement! His name is Elder Wight and he is from Lehi Utah. He has 6 months on the mission and came from my same last area. Its pretty crazy given the fact that I was in the office and picked him up from the bus stop when he just got to the country and now he is taking my spot.

I will still be in the office for a few weeks to train him which means I'll probably get transferred to a new area soon! I am super excited for that day lol. Stay tuned for more info on where I will be going. I don’t even know yet where or when exactly I will go, but I am sure it will be great! I have loved learning and growing in the office, and working with President and Sister Breton. There are things I will miss about the office, but I look forward to being in a teaching area again!

As far as things we did this week, we had to do another move and just dealt with a ton of little problems that missionaries have had. We didn't get anytime to teach in our area, but I am sure that next week we will get a ton of time!

Love ya’ll!

Puerto Plata, Constanza, and shopping for hours with Hermana Bretón

Hey everyone! So our p-day was moved from Saturday to Monday. All because we had to do a move on Saturday in the prettiest place ever!! Constanza is a place in the DR with big mountains and is known as the coldest place in the country. It feels like a summer night or a fall day and I loved it. Sadly due to the busy schedule we were on we didn't get to take any pictures:(

We actually did 2 moves last week. One of them being in Puerto Plata. We had a good time there cause there is an Empanada Shop that some members own and we always go eat there when we have to go to Puerto Plata. It's called Deli-past and the Juice there is unreal haha.

Friday was one of the funnest days I have had on my mission. The original plan was to move Constanza but it was raining and the drive there is super dangerous so Pres moved it to Saturday. So on Friday we spent the entire day from 10-9 with the AP’s and Pres and Hermana Bretón.

The first thing we did was go to a mattress Factory. We had to repair some of the missions mattresses and so we went and checked out an entire factory. It was actually so cool. We got to watch how mattress are made and all the machines they use and it was crazy. After that we went shopping with Hermana Bretón while the AP’s went to Presidents house to work on transfers.

We shopped with Hermana Bretón from 3:30ish and didn't get back to the mission home until 9:40. It was kinda brutal haha. Some American songs were playing though and I started singing and Hermana Bretón thought that was funny lol. Also there were some dope Spanish songs so I asked her the name of them and she told me and then said in Spanish "what am I gonna do with you?!?" Haha. Shopping with her is always a good time.

As far as teaching goes our area is doing great rn! We have 6 baptismal dates and we are hoping to have a baptism this coming week. We have been working so hard at always getting to our area even if it's 8:30. As we have been diligent in working late the Lord has blessed us with amazing people to teach.

Some of them are Michell, Maria, and Jennifer. They live in this super beat up place in the middle of nowhere and have a great desire to learn and follow Jesus Christ. We have invited them to be baptized on the 24th of Feb so pray that they can be prepared!

I thought that having 6 months left in the mission would be slow and so hard, but in all honesty I have been so happy. I love the work and I am grateful to have a little chunk of time left in it.

Love you all!

Don't Blink

Kenny Chesney has a song called Don't Blink. It says don’t blink life goes faster than you think, so basically talks about how fast time...
