So a lot of people think the mission is Rainbows and Butterflies and a dream. I was Lucky to have sibling who warned me that it is not that. Don't get me wrong the mission is incredible but it is hard. That same mentality is how missionaries see the office elders. A lot of missionaries think that being in the office is a dream with rainbows and butterflies and whatever you want, but yeah not so much lol. I have loved the office so far and I have been learning so much but it for sure has been some of the hardest and most stressful days of the mission so far. Working closely with President is a blessing but also a very stressful thing. But like my mom and family have taught me, there is always a positive.
This week the positive was finding time to study the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. In Alma 3:27 it says "For every man receiveth wages of him whom he listeth to obey.." As disciples of Jesus Christ we can list to obey Him as our master, or we can list to obey Satan. I loved thinking about this and that all of us have the choice to obey who we want to obey. At the end of the day when all of our choices are added together we will truly know who we listed to obey.
Jesus Christ is who I list to obey. I am not perfect at it but nobody is perfect. Being in the office has really put me to the test. As I stress and worry about things that need to be done I remember that Jesus Christ is our advocate. He is our brother who loves us and desires to help us. Just think Jesus.
We have a few friends who are progressing towards baptism and we often talk about following the example that Jesus Christ set for us. I love that thought. Jesus Christ truly did everything as an example.
I hope we can all follow his example. It will make you happier. It will help you understand better what you should do. Jesus Christ is perfect.
The mission is a challenge but the biggest blessing ever. When my brother Carter was serving his mission he sent me a letter that had a little card it it that said "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you" I still have that card on my desk and it reminds me daily that challenges are for the better.
I love you all and know that this is the church of Jesus Christ. Read your scriptures and always remember Jesus Christ.
