Greatest Time of the Year!

Well everybody it's Conference weekend finally! Conference on the mission is truly like Christmas morning. I am so excited to hear all of the amazing talks today and tomorrow.

As for the week we did a lot as always and it was a grind. I got passed off to drive so I have been driving all around and it has been so much fun, and also way scarier then driving in the states lol. Don't worry mom and dad I am careful.

To be completely honest I am writing this email and can't think of anything that happened this week. Office life is weird.

However the highlight of the week was that we had a baptism last night! Our friend Smeily was baptized and confirmed last night and it was such a great experience. I love watching people get baptized and feeling the spirit that is there.

Our friend Dariel (the English speaker) came and he told us he felt different. He watched us do the confirmation as well and he was very confused haha. He asked us after If we were doing magic or something but we explained it to him. He hopefully will be getting baptized soon.

Honestly sorry for the boring email. This week has been crazy and fast! Enjoy Conference and have a great week! Love you all!

Long Days...Long Weeks.

So a lot of people think the mission is Rainbows and Butterflies and a dream. I was Lucky to have sibling who warned me that it is not that. Don't get me wrong the mission is incredible but it is hard. That same mentality is how missionaries see the office elders. A lot of missionaries think that being in the office is a dream with rainbows and butterflies and whatever you want, but yeah not so much lol. I have loved the office so far and I have been learning so much but it for sure has been some of the hardest and most stressful days of the mission so far. Working closely with President is a blessing but also a very stressful thing. But like my mom and family have taught me, there is always a positive.

This week the positive was finding time to study the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. In Alma 3:27 it says "For every man receiveth wages of him whom he listeth to obey.." As disciples of Jesus Christ we can list to obey Him as our master, or we can list to obey Satan. I loved thinking about this and that all of us have the choice to obey who we want to obey. At the end of the day when all of our choices are added together we will truly know who we listed to obey.

Jesus Christ is who I list to obey. I am not perfect at it but nobody is perfect. Being in the office has really put me to the test. As I stress and worry about things that need to be done I remember that Jesus Christ is our advocate. He is our brother who loves us and desires to help us. Just think Jesus.

We have a few friends who are progressing towards baptism and we often talk about following the example that Jesus Christ set for us. I love that thought. Jesus Christ truly did everything as an example.

I hope we can all follow his example. It will make you happier. It will help you understand better what you should do. Jesus Christ is perfect.

The mission is a challenge but the biggest blessing ever. When my brother Carter was serving his mission he sent me a letter that had a little card it it that said "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you" I still have that card on my desk and it reminds me daily that challenges are for the better.

I love you all and know that this is the church of Jesus Christ. Read your scriptures and always remember Jesus Christ.

Office Work and More Office Work

The office is a grind. We are always doing so many things around our mission to keep things moving.

This week was crazy! We had an emergency transfer and that included 2 of my comps. Both of the Elder Andersons were transferred out. And we received Elder Newton. He will be the new housing Elder and I will keep being the technology and mail Elder. It was crazy.

This week I have started to study the bible, like truly study and not just read it. I started in Luke. I have read 1 chapter a day and it takes me about 45 mins to finish 1 chapter. I am using the institute study guide and WOW you can learn so much from that thing. If there is anything I have learned it is that the Bible is actually an insanely cool book of History.

Last night we found time to squeeze in a 30 minute lesson with one of our reference from social media. We put her on date a week into me being here and she has been to church 2 times. She is very interested and is gonna be baptized on the 23rd of this month! Pray for her and pray that she can keep progressing. Her name is Esmyli.

Last night we also got news that we have to move some Elders today. So P-day won't be much of a P-day today.

Love you all! Have a great week!

2.5

Hey everyone! This week was such a busy week so I don't really know where to start.

Being in the office is SUCH a different experience from my last year of missionary work. This next week things should get better but for this week we worked a total of 2.5 hours in our area teaching.

This week was Zone Conference and it went a lot better then I was expecting. I had to set up all the technology like the mics and the HDMI cords and just every little thing we have, and it all went pretty smooth so that made me feel good. In the Zone Conference we learned a lot about having the end in mind. We also talked about contacting people and making sure we teach a full principle rather then tell them God loves them and then leave. It is always fun to learn at Zone conferences.

As far as my life goes the office is SO fun! My 3 comps are super cool and we all have a really good time. Last night one of my comps Elder Anderson (the one with glasses) and I were talking about Jesus. We were mentioning how anytime we feel nervous, scared, or even stressed we can simply think in our heads the name "Jesus" and we instantly feel better. It is a testament to me that He actually lives and we can truly find peace in Jesus.

Overall I am doing great! Time on the mission is flying by and I am really just trying to live it to the fullest! Hope you are all doing good and can always remember to think "Jesus" when you have hard days!

Office Work

Soo the office is SO different then normal missionary work, but it is so fun. Time passed by so fast this week. We still do normal missionary work, don't get me wrong, but some days we aren't in the street until 7 or 8 at night. It's crazy but a good time.

Speaking of crazy we are in a quad now! Elder Anderson arrived on Wednesday and he is being trained by Elder Crookston while the other Elder Anderson is training me. So all 4 of us have been grinding to move people from apartments and cleaning up a storage thing we have in the mission while picking up packages to getting things ready for Zone Conference. It's crazy to say the least but I have loved every minute of it!

We are still teaching and this Sunday we will have the baptism of these cool little Haitian kids named Jose and Eduardo. They have 2 cousins who are 22 that go to church every week and have been going since they were 12. So they have support and we are so excited for them. We are also teaching a sister named Alba who is cool and she is making progress. We had a lesson with her last night and she started to tear up as we testified of Jesus Christ and following His example through our actions. It was a tender moment that I will never forget.

I have learned a lot already about technology and moving furniture lol. I love this assignment so far, and can't wait to keep improving.

Conference is coming up in about 4 weeks!! I am so excited and can't wait to hear all the talks from our Prophet and Apostles. I want to invite you all to start preparing now for General Conference. I know that our questions can be answered if we pray for answers and listen for them. It is such an amazing thing that God has given us a Prophet in these days to guide and lead us. I love Jesus Christ. I love this gospel!

Have a great week!

Don't Blink

Kenny Chesney has a song called Don't Blink. It says don’t blink life goes faster than you think, so basically talks about how fast time...
